Public Relations & Promotions Internship
What is the value of a product placement in a national fashion magazine? Does promoting an item via a blog giveaway really influence potential customers' purchasing decisions? We're finding out for ourselves, and we invite you to join our team as we continue to navigate the ever-changing road of e-commerce public relations and product promotion. You'll have the chance to learn broad approaches and powerful strategies for the online retailing industry.
An internship with Affordable Style will allow you to gain experience in a particularly commutative aspect of online marketing. This internship offers an opportunity to be involved in many aspects of product promotion through traditional and digital public relations for our products and stores. You will also be able to participate in local networking activities with other professionals and local business leaders – meetings that can prove very beneficial to you when seeking employment post-graduation.
As an intern, you will be involved in all aspects of PR and promotion for our products and stores. Your duties will include:
- Collaborating with the Marketing Team on brand strategy
- Researching fashion accessories industry-relevant publications, television and online domains
- Developing profiles for the purpose of evaluating product placement and promotional targets
- Communicating directly with fashion industry professionals via product pitches, press releases and sample distribution arrangements
- Evaluating the impact of promotional efforts on sales, site visits, and brand visibility
- Researching new avenues for online promotions and determining the most effective approach for success
- Helping to create a database of promotional partners

Qualifications:
- Communications major preferred but not required
- Positive, people oriented, and energetic
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge or interest in public relations, magazines, fashion and/or online retailing
- Solid organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Be in either your Junior or Senior year
Note that this is a 12 week, full time internship (40 hours per week) and is based out of our Greenwood, Indiana facility.
